Tethys Condor Charts Repo

This repository contains the helm chart for condor docker. These charts are designed for use by Tethys apps, and has not been tested for usability in stand-alone mode.

How to install

This Github page is currently being build from the /docs folder in the master branch. The helm charts are located here.

To add this repo, you can run this command

helm repo add condor-docker https://aquaveo.github.io/condor-docker/

You can search what is inside this repo:

helm search repo condor-docker

You should see these following charts:

condor-docker/condor-manager    0.1.1           latest          HTCondor Manager Nodes
condor-docker/condor-worker     0.1.1           dev             HTCondor Worker Node 

Run this command to install:

helm install condor-docker/condor-manager --generate-name
helm install condor-docker/condor-worker --generate-name

Docker-Condor

This project started as an attempt to get HTCondor to run nicely in a docker containter, and has morphed into supporting Tethys deployments to Kubernetes.

Setup

  1. Create a pool password file
    • condor_store_cred -p $(uuidgen) -f /tmp/password
  2. Add the pool password to Kubernetes
    • kubectl create secret generic condor-pool-password --from-file=/tmp/password
  3. Create an ssh key
    • ssh-keygen -t rsa -b 2048
  4. Add the public key to Kubernetes
    • cp .ssh/id_rsa.pub authorized_keys
    • kubectl create secret generic condor-ssh-key --from-file=authorized_keys
  5. Deploy the central manager
    • helm install helm/condor-manager
  6. Once running, deploy the Workers
    • helm install helm/condor-worker
