Diving into the Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System BRFSS 2015 dataset to make findings on Coronary Heart Diseases
Coronary Heart Disease (CHD) is a cardiovascular condition characterized by narrowed or blocked arteries that supply blood to the heart. It's caused by plaque buildup in the artery walls, leading to serious complications.
A leading cause of death worldwide, responsible for approximately 18 million fatalities each year. It remains a major public health concern due to its widespread prevalence and significant impact on mortality rates.
Chest pain, Sweating, palpitations, Dizziness, Fatigue, Shortness of breath
Medical history, physical examination, Stress Test, Various medical images like ECHO,CCTA,MRI etc
After this disease was diagnosed in a close relative, I began to look closely into the challenges with its diagnoses. Many patients can be asymtomptic and symtoms can vary widely among individuals. Since lifestyle and medical history contributes greatly to the occurrence of most diseases, I got Interesed in how and what this large dataset can reveal about CHD by asking several exploration questions
Dataset is the BRFSS (Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System) 2015 dataset cleaned by ALEX TEBOUL. The dataset originally has 330 features (columns), but has been cleaned to only select features influencing chronic health conditions based on research.
