This wiki is to capture the problems we find from Zowe users who are unable to successfully install and successfully start the Zowe server started task. There are a number of different problems users are encountering with broken installs that require the user to perform manual troubleshooting, or engage with the Zowe users or onboarders channel asking for help.

Solution

Zowe will include scripts that a user can run to check their environment that will report problems.

Pre install (before creating a Zowe runtime)

/install/zowe-pre-install.sh can be run before an install zowe-pre-install.sh to report whether the environment has enough pre-reqs, space, ... for Zowe to be successful. Portions of this script will be run during the install itself.
