Add a comment/description entry text box for subject_sets #3016
Comments
Closing as this has not received comments or action for over a year. |
This one I'm reopening, because as a researcher using the platform I'd really like to see this happen. Coming back months later and then I've got to use just the subject set name to figure out what's actually in there. It would be helpful to add discription. It's fine not close because you're not going to act on it and it's a do not fix issue, but I haven't been commenting because I'm aware that things like this are lower priority. But this item I thought would really help improve the backend and usefulness of the classifications because as a researcher I would know more what the contents of my subject set are better without having to reply on external notes. |

Still think this is needed. My subject sets are looking a bit like files on my harddrive where I remember what it is if I had a good name for it otherwise I'm having to sort through notes to figure out which subject set is which |
Subjects sets don't have a description field, so there should be an issue open on Panoptes first to add that to the subject sets resource before we can work on any UI for it. |
there is already backend ticket open at zooniverse/panoptes#1965 |
It would be nice to be able to give a longer description of what the hell the subject set is for and is being used for than just the name. Right now all we have on the project owner side is the name. It would be helpful especially as projects age to be able to go back and see that subject set title 'gold_expert_round2_review' had a comment line with '2nd review by PI for gold subjects where in first review the experts disagreed'.
This would give project owners and collaborators more information especially for the people who weren't the ones who originally uploaded the subject set or if it's been 4-10 months since you uploaded any subjects.
