The Channel API documentation states that support for sending and receiving emergency alerts is being planned. However, I noticed that the Channel API already reports emergency alerts sent from another client with an "on_alert" command. So, it already seems to be possible to receive emergency alerts through the Channel API although this was not mentioned in the documentation. How about sending emergency alerts? Is there any estimation when we might see support for that?
