Hi, I want to customize the path of this plugin's files, so that I can keep the folder structure more tidy. Could it be implemented? : )

Yes this is a very needed feature. Basically:

Apart from EXCLUDE option, We need:

INCLUDE ONLY Files/Folder Feature:
Only use This sub-folder within current vault folder (for indexing & generating answers)

Currently with even small to medium number of files the problems are:

• Takes very long time to index
• Device overheats fast
• Turn off machine due to over-heating
• Just deleted my Obsidian settings and turned off all plugins (I can not remember which of the many were turned ON or OFF)

I tried adding to exclude:
/ * . *
but it makes the plugin hang during indexing.

Anyway, include Only is much more useful & can achieve the same as Exclude option currently and much more.
It is also standard UI/UX practice to limit scope of a program to only one folder/sub-folder.

Without this, it is unusable for many with even small amounts of files to index.

Simply put, we need a new option.

Basically saying the following:

INCLUDE ONLY FILES FROM FOLDER: [SELECT FOLDER button:] [X]

This would be recursive, so sub-folders within it are scanned too.

This folder would be within current Obsidian chosen vault folder.

Basically advantages apart from current problems:
Takes too long, crash, freeze, over-heat, restart, etc

is:

Can quickly have a subfolder with limited files to scan

Can have multi project folders we can switch, each has it's own specific area files

Can have an empty folder set so in effect no files are scanned

Many other benefits as gives total control + options + fixes most current problems.

I think this is crucial if the plugin is to survive and thrive and become dominant in Ai area of Obsidian.
