IATI Publisher's data entry form and bulk import currently give an error if a user formats their telephone number with a "+" sign.
The contact-info telephone sub-element has no restrictions on symbols. The IATI schema accepts any string in this field.
Can we:
Relax the data validation logic in the data entry form to accept strings with white space or the following symbols: + ( ) -
Apply the same change to data validation checks when importing activity data (if applicable)

Following discussion this morning on what to allow in the contact telephone field, I suggest allowing spaces and the following symbols: + ( ) -
This is based on a quick analysis of existing IATI data and is a balance between making the field more flexible for data imports, while preventing nonsense entries.
I have updated the issue description accordingly. Any questions, let me know!
