Automation to make PRs awaiting review more visible

Any thoughts on some form of auto-labeling or auto-assigning of reviewers for newly opened PRs? I'm not sure what the best approach would be, but given that contributors are unable to apply labels or request reviews on GithHub, it might be helpful (and reassure impatient folks like me) to have an automation to label PRs that have had no review yet so that they are visible?

I'm down to implement such a solution, but wanted to reach out for ideas and feedback before spending any time on it

The auto-labelling would be cool IMO :) takes away some of my labelling madness :D

Auto assigning reviewers might actually slow down when PRs get merged - If I'm assigned then @siku2 might not look at it and if I'm busy then it will get neglected until either I'm free or @siku2 gets bored waiting for me and vice versa and this might be the case for any combination of possible maintainers in the future.

Maintainers are also volunteers so I think the only thing that should assign them is themselves otherwise it might cause a maintainer undue stress wanting to review the PR but might be unable to do so because of this "real life" people talk about :P.

Also we want contributors to feel welcome to review PRs and I think if they are always assigned to someone then a contributor might not want to step on any toes by reviewing it too.
