My problem is that I am using a multi currency plugin and currently can't select a specific currency

I want to be able to choose a specific currency that will be used by GadgetsMenu

This is a message from the developer of TNE:

So, for this you can request plugins to utilize the modern vault fork, vault unlocked that I made with the towny developer to allow multi-currency support, otherwise vault utilizes the default server currency
