As per suggestion, I installed Platform Update (Windows6.1-KB2670838-x64) and the issue seems to be solved. Is it DirectWrite? Interestingly, Opera 95 (Chromium 109) did not have this issue, even if Platform Update was not installed. However, there still seems to be an issue with some UTF8 characters not displayed on e.g X/Twitter, which is likewise not an issue with Chromium 109. |

With sandbox enabled (default) some font characters are not rendered. When Supermium is started with option --no-sandbox the characters are properly displayed. I have attached Mastodon screenshots as example, but the problem also exists on other sites. This seems to be a bug in Chromium that was already addressed several years ago. I tested this on Windows 7 x64.
