Thank you. I had noted some issues with the icons when I was designing them, but I was told a Gaussian blur would be the best I could do. Thank you for convincing me otherwise. |

In case anyone wants to use Resource Hacker to use the old Chromium icon, it is attached. IDR_MAINFRAME.zip Any blur or crop lines in the new icon were there to begin with; I made no edits. I would recommend running the Chromium icon through an AI upscaler, if no 256px version is available, before editing it. I'm happy to work on it if there's a PSD or other photo editing project file available. If basing off the largest 48px RGBA Chromium icon, I would:

Keep the criticism constructive, or find someone else's Git to SPAM my friend. If you have logo suggestions, feel free to share them. |

Regarding the icon, On windows 11, it does look like this when created with profile. Tried clearing the icon cache, but no change. If there's any workaround, let us know. |

I'm not trying to spam, I was just expressing an opinion. Anyways, It's mainly about the shape and the fact a different icon is used in new tab page. And why does the website use a different icon than the browser? And as I'm writing this, I'm just now noticing the favicon is the OG chromium icon. How I sorta picture it looking, is the chromium logo with a Superman looking S in the middle. And ofc since the new logo is out, I imagine it being the same color scheme but with that S in the middle |

The reason why the new version of the logo looks ugly is because the colors are dirty, too many contrasting colors are used, and the shape is blurry. You should check more personally when making the logo to see if it is suitable or coordinated properly, because that is "User's first impression" |

I think it's constructive because I also think it's worse than other logos used for this project. I immediately replaced it with the old good Chromium icon. |

Super Chromium, just add an S to indicate, how easy it is. . . |

Eh, I'm not all into the idea of using the regular chrome logo. It's Chromium, not Google Chrome |

who thinks otherwise ? |

I know, but I just want people to know at a glance that this is the same thing as the Chrome browser. |

We should let Win32 put the design he want for his icon |

This is my original draft ,unfortunately, I don’t have time to draw, which is roughly based on the old Chromium 3D icon concept, but the edges are arcs and the color is the same as the Chromium 2011 color scheme. |

I use this in my XP install, since only use 16 colors icons,i made this one |

ik that this one isn't quite the idea maybe, but I think a normal colored logo would make it more like a Parrot than normal |

Current (v122r2) Supermium icon is an aero Chromium icon mirrored, with a greenish tint and a Mozilla globe in the center. It's pretty good. ... though I suspect best practices for image editing were not followed: the resource it's based off is 48x48px, and it has been upscaled to 256px with a basic image editor and is slightly blurry. To upscale resources like this, an AI upscaler should be used to bring it to 2x the final resolution, e.g. 512px and editing should happen at this resolution, then it should be rendered down to the final resolution 256px, and further tweaks and resizing to any smaller resolutions in Axialis Icon Editor. Prefer the original resolution 48px, etc. icons where possible. A 64px icon size is also included, which is not needed on Windows: Windows needs 256px RGBA PNG, 48px RGBA, 32px RGBA, 24px RGBA (for menus), 16px RGBA and the same in 256 colour for safe mode and WinXP. See also here. Win10 added support for larger icon sizes 512px and 768px, but these are rarely used. I don't know if Win11 added anything to the spec. I learned this while editing image resources for PSP homebrew games. EDIT: I'm not sure if the new icon is mirrored, I just noticed that it seems to match the direction used for the Chromium icon on Ungoogled Chromium. I think maybe the Aero Chromium logo used for v119 was mirrored... or not. Not sure. |

Appreciate the feedback. I actually created this iteration of the logo. I sourced it from a 256x256 px image, not 48x48. I initially left out the 48x48 copy by accident, as Windows 10/11 (possibly 8.x) do not use that size on the desktop. Some blurring was applied to particularly smaller versions of the icon, as I had scaling issues with them otherwise. An AI upscaler was utilized for noise filtering for all image resolutions. The icon has been slightly revised since the v.122 release, which should look ever so slightly less noisy than the previous. It was sent in by some other users. I would be happy to share my source files with you as well, if you'd be interested in giving them a look. It's a bit disorganized though, as I have .fw and PSD files. Below is the non-blurred PNG at it's original size: (I too create my own game art for PSP ROMs in Adrenaline, I have an OLED 3G Vita sitting beside me :) |

Supermium v121 added a new program icon. It is a 256px RGBA icon, based off the Aero Chromium icon. Windows icons have a poorly documented specification, but TLDR you need 256px, 48px, 32px and 16px in RGBA and 256-colour as a minimum for the program icon to work properly at all zoom levels, safe modes and operating systems. The original Chromium icon used included 48px, 32px and 16px in 256-colour and 16.8M colour (ie. RGBA).
Please find attached a modified version of the new icon with 48px, 32px and 16px in RGBA and 256-colour added to the default 256px RGBA. I did this in Axialis IconWorkshop.
The new icon also has cropping visible to the left and right, which I have not fixed, but which probably should be at some point.
NB. I do prefer the original Chromium icon, as the new one is a bit boring, reminiscent of Edgium or Win95 styling, rather than Win7's Aero, but I do understand Supermium needing its own identity.
