How to disable automatic update of add-ons and browser

Is there a way to disable automatic update of add-ons and also portable browser? I think browser might not have auto-updater yet but when it comes, could you make options for it?

Might this slow down browsing, for example increase lag even a little when playing games?

I wouldn't know or be able to tell, as I'm not a gamer myself and am currently using Supermium on a 2008-era laptop (not fit for on-line gaming, among other things) 😉 ; but this flag is a tested way to thwart extension updates from the CWS; some extra info, courtesy of:

It works. I also tried to launch ungoogled version and it also stops updating.
