For some reason M4 and M4 Pro struggles with ultrawides. #3619 My current theory is this is because of a balancing act - if the system thinks a display would not benefit much from some higher resolution options, it just does not provide them in case an other display is connected later on which needed that resource. This is because these Macs support different resolutions and refresh rates depending on the number and type of displays connected (see the specs - it can do 3x5K/6K or 1x8K+1x5K/6K depending on M4 model). The system does not know the user's intent in advance about what kind of displays will be connected later on - so it is trying to be as economical as possible (since if 6K+ resources are granted to a connection, the user can connect 1 less external display later). |

@Stealthjls Hi, do you continue with this issue? I'm having exactly the same problem as you. I followed all the steps and I only get 3337 X 1397 in Better Display with HiDPI which looks worse that normal 3440 x 1440. My setup is the Lenovo G34w-10 and MacBook m4 Pro 2024 with MacOs Sequoia. Also tried to change the refresh rates but with no success. @waydabber is there any update to this? Thank you. |

My new M4 Mac Mini Pro won’t allow me to select HiDPi at 3440 x 1440 on my LG UltraWide 34WQ73A-B. I’ve tried USB-C and HDMI with no luck. My 2021 M1 Pro MacBook Pro does support this. Any idea what’s up?
