ERROR in SplitPaneModule is not an NgModule

I've installed ng2-split-pane (v1.3.1) to my Angular 4.1.0 app with npm and trying to build it with Angular-cli. I get 'ERROR in SplitPaneModule is not an NgModule'

I also tried v1.3.0 mentioned in one of other issues, but that giving me 'Cannot find module 'ng2-split-pane''

We figured it out with a colleague of mine.
The module is not exported to the root so in order to make v1.3.1 to work it has to be imported like that:
import { SplitPaneModule } from 'ng2-split-pane/lib/ng2-split-pane';

Also, the sample code is not working properly, primary-component-toggled-off has to go inside square brackets, like that:
[primary-component-toggled-off]="false"
Otherwise primary component is not displayed.
