There currently isn't a good way to verify the (short-term) freshness of signed configs. The configs have an expiration date, but those are typically long-term.

Failed to generate new Alpenhorn client: fetching latest dialing config: config expired on 2019-02-02 09:01:48.838394379 -0500 -0500

This is an error I get. Maybe related?

I just signed and uploaded new, unexpired configs.
