There are some issues with gitbook right now as detailed below by ryanstout. This issue is to track the experiment of converting certain chapters over to softcover.io.

From @ryanstout via gitter:

"so its kind of a pain to edit by hand because of the way you need to generate the navigation, so they have a desktop app I was using, but its really slow and buggy. Then they moved to a web app, but its also slow, and it deleted a bunch of my pages. (super buggy basically)
also, the generated docs are slow to render also
also, its hard to get gitbook's server running locally
I like how softcover has a single page option"
