I have requested this change by email years ago but I guess the developers are busy with more important stuff.

Current behavior

On Ubuntu and Fedora, using Gnome, there is no tray icon for VeraCrypt so I have to start the program using the GUI. Every time, I get a small window that says VeraCrypt is already running. I'd like this window to be removed and the currently running version of VeraCrypt to be displayed (which it is already).

Desired behavior

The user would not have to click OK on in the tiny window whenever he or she wanted to use VeraCrypt on Linux when there is no tray icon. All in all, this message seems completely extraneous as the currently running version of VeraCrypt opens.

Additional information

I can make a pull request if needed. I am a bit unsure, though, because the string LINUX_VC_RUNNING_ALREADY is used in two places and I don't know the difference. My guess is that only the first occurrence, in GraphicUserInterface.cpp, should be removed.

Your Environment

Fedora Desktop 41 x64 running Gnome 47.

VeraCrypt version:
1.26.14

Operating system and version:
Fedora Desktop 41 x64 running Gnome 47.

System type:
