Try running the ROS [global_planner] package with some navigator bag data and see how it performs. Specifically,

Does the global_planner produce valid paths faster than lqrrt?
Are the paths produced by global_planner shorter than lqrrt?
Is the CPU/memory usage of global_planner lower than lqrrt?
