Hi,

Whenever I read an Excel file using read_excel() or its friends, a single empty line is printed in the console.

This is not very serious but it can be a bit inconvenient.

Here is an example (reproducible at home). foobar.xls is an empty xls file created in the Win10 explorer using right-click > New > XLS sheet.

x = readxl::read_excel("foobar.xls")

x = capture.output(readxl::read_excel("foobar.xls"))
x

Yeah I think this is something with the progress bar. I do plan to look into it, but it is also relatively harmless.
