Plugin Tester:
Create a way to test plugins without needing to connect to an IRC server
Non-Volitile memory:
Create a good system for storing data that doesn't get lost when Superbot
restarts.
This should allow for plugins to store any values they want
Identify/Login:
Create a way for plugins can require a user be logged in/identified to
perform some functionalitiy.
Preferbly this should not require Nickserv to also be present
Plugin types:
Some plugins are 'more imporant' than others, such as the ability to use
irc Colors in text. The PluginManager is also fairly key to Superbot
Find a way to make these plugins('service's?) work separately from the
typical plugins, also allow for testing of presence so plugins can
respond apropriately. (such as not including color markers if the color
plugin is absent)
Plugin interface problems:
Currently many plugins need to get the nick, channel, and tell if the
message is a private message or in a channel
Implementing an easy fix so that this information is there would be nice
Thoughts: possibly a decorator that takes the provided input and re-forms
it into a better form:
@ParamFix
def on_PRIVMSG(bot,from,to,message):
where from is the senders nick, to is the channel or the senders nick
and message is, of course, the message itself
def getTarget(bot,userline,msg): #msg[0] is who the message was sent to
if msg[0]==bot.nickname:
return userline.split("!")[0] #it's a PM
return msg[0] #it's to a channel
