Same with master and 2.42.2 tag. Any idea how to fix this or where to look further?

Looks like the desired types are not available in the version of libsoup that is installed on debian wheezy which is 2.38: https://developer.gnome.org/libsoup/2.38/

Is it easily possible to create a soup-sharp release for 2.38?

It seems libsoup 2.42 is required, as indicated in commit d1867c0

But a specific check for that version should be added in configure.ac

glensc added a commit to pld-linux/dotnet-soup-sharp that referenced this issue Jul 13, 2014

I had this error too. (Ubuntu 12.04, here to get SparkleShare working)
