A support user has requested the ability to limit views by unique posts, i.e. "5 free articles per month", instead of counting all views for any restricted post, including when the page is refreshed.

Yeah, that would be pretty cool.

For example, this is the approach taken by endpts.com, which requires mandatory subscription (free one) to access any of its posts, the number of which is limited to five per month. In parallel, they have paid access (premium subscription), first, to remove the limit of five different posts per month and, second, to access exclusive posts.

Thus, we have quite a working paywall model, which is designed to fuel interest in the content of the site, in fact enticing to paid subscription.
