👋 Hey! My name is Sasha. I'm an indie maker. I live in Singapore with my wife and baby daughter.

I'm an indie maker, and since 2017, I've been working full-time on open-source while bootstrapping my projects. Supporting me on this journey will help me stay motivated to keep sharing much of my work with the world for free.

My best work

My most notable work is:

• date-fns - leading JavaScript date library I have worked on since 2014. As of March 2024, it has 87M+ npm downloads per month.

• Typesaurus - it's type-safe ODM for Firebase Firestore. It comes with complimentary Typesaurus React and Typesaurus Security that takes the development experience to the next level.

Other, less epic work:

• TinyFloat - is a tiny and fast decimal class for JavaScript (less than 0.5kB!).

• paddle-billing - type-safe Paddle Billing API, webhooks and browser client wrapper. If you need billing for your project, there's a big chance that you'll love using it!

I have many more projects that aren't ready yet to be used in production, like tsrf, a build tool that makes it easy to use TypeScript Project References in a monorepo, Firemyna a Firebase application toolkit and also js-fns and modern take on general utility library for JavaScript.

Recent progress

I made quite a progress over the past few years while working on my startup and raising a small child.

In January 2024, I shipped Typesaurus X

In December 2023, I shipped a new major version, date-fns v3.

In September, I shipped the first version of paddle-billing, which took a few weeks of hard work almost full-time.

While I don't believe open-source should be transactional but rather an act of love for the craft, having monetary support helps one stick to the path instead of having a more lucrative and safe corporate job, making shareholders rich instead of sharing the love with the community.
