Hello, I'm Jeremy!

I've been shipping free software for over a decade. I believe that software needs to be open and free in order to be truly useful, so I spend much of my free time trying to meet new needs and develop effective technical solutions. I also work to empower others by sharing what I've learned and patiently troubleshooting issues.

I've been fortunate to see my open source work be used by millions of people around the world. My NPM packages are downloaded over 2 million times a year and my free web game Farmhand gets played by hundreds every day. I want to create more of this value in the world, but it takes funding to reach my maximum potential. I'd be grateful if you would support my work! 🙏

What I'm working on

I split my time between a number of projects. My most impactful project is Chitchatter, a truly anonymous and private communication tool that makes it easy to connect with others safely and anonymously. I lead development of the Farmhand series of games. I maintain Shifty, the most performant web animation library in the world (take a look at the performance metrics to see for yourself). I contribute to myriad other projects as needed, as well as maintain my own library of GitHub repos.

How your support will help

Open source is simply a hobby for me outside of my day job, as it does not pay the bills... yet! My capacity to work on it is limited by my free time and motivation to do development work outside of my 9-5 software engineering job. Every little bit of support keeps me going, even if it's just a few dollars a month!

In addition to funding me personally, sponsorship money can be fed back into the operation of my projects. Specifically, Chitchatter and Farmhand depend on TURN servers for reliable P2P communication. TURN servers cost money to operate, so your money will also help support the continued functionality these projects.
