Language selection button on first form only, #53
Comments
Is it affected by whether the form starts as a blank or has been previously started? I opened a new subject, and this time the form works the button is there and able to select the language multiple times. Really needs to be sure this will be consistent for all subjects and all forms throughout. thanx. |
ok, the button is there, but the questions are not changing, except for the first descriptive field that I added for the instructions. I don't understand this hit and miss. Might it be caching? I did ctrl-shift-r and it still starts Enlish, goes to Spanish, but not back to English, except for those instructions. https://redcap-test.connecticutchildrens.org/surveys/?s=yLU4DRcdXR |
The link to your survey is closed. Can you open it back up so I can take a look? |
Will do. Should not be closed.

Problem has shifted. We found that some fields didn't have the English and the issue previously resolved when everything was filled in. This one everything is filled in. You can pick the language once, but then the button goes away. Additionally, we are having troulble where the field annotation has translations, but the boxes to fill in the various options are no longer there. Here's link about changig language and then the button goes away. |
Look at your survey settings and see if you have the survey title hidden.
That's why the button doesn't show up usually

The enrollment survey field for survey title is @hidden and the title is
hidden in survey settings since we have the logo.
what say ye, oh wise one?
Additionally very weird now, when editing some fields, it doesn't give you
the different boxes to fill in the translations. Previous translations are
in the Field Annotation box.
Finally, is there a generic error message of "unexpected value", we're
getting just a red circle with a dash. Hate to have to add that to every
last question.
thanx again.
thanx,
clarence

REDCap version 10.6.11 and Multilingual v 1.9.8
The languages field was on the first form, as a form and not a survey.
opening other forms as surveys does not display the language selector . Seems to tied to the first selection without allowing to change on subsequent surveys.
another user has relayed that was able to set language, but not able to change it again after that. I know we've been able to change languages multiple times at my other institution., so we know that it should work. although, there have been similar problems there for selecting and reselecting.
we have not changed the languages or the language field. All fields have the place for translation and translations have been filled it. Not sure where to go from here.
We have seen it be hit and miss to set the language previously at another institution. great tool and critical to our research but at a loss for how to resolve.
please advise.
