Finally WP 3.4 is deprecating PHP 4 style constructors. Since this plugin requires PHP 5, we can skip the new form of PHP 4 legacy constructor also. So it's very simple. ( For an example of a full widget fix, see the latest diff on wp-content/twentyeleven/inc/widgets.php )
Not so simple: ver 0.51 was released, in July 2015, as a second ver 0.50. I guess that means sites did not get updates. So I am versioning my pull 0.52, and updated the changelog.
