As a crime statistician, I want to retrieve the redacted police report for each search result row, so that I can review the details of the crime to make a final determination whether the crime is reportable under the Clery Act. #52

Expected behavior

ALL SFPD Incidents and associated data and digitized documents that are needed to support Clery Act reporting can be found on SF OpenData. The need to submit public records requests related to Clery Act reporting will be eliminated.

Actual behavior

SF OpenData does not include a PDF or other digital file with the crime report details at this time. Crime report details are needed to positively identify whether a given incident must be reported under the Clery Act. Any data required for Clery Act reporting that is not available on SF OpenData, will result in public records requests being submitted to SFPD and cause a drain on the records department.

Steps to reproduce

Nothing to reproduce. Redacted PDF arrest reports are not available.

Steps to correct

We are dependent on SF OpenData to improve the data source, or direct us to an alternate data source. This is desired for the future.
