You've probably already looked into Seattle's Pronto program. It ended up shutting down. Would trip data have been useful in understanding why? Or how that could have been avoided?

Found a site with what seems to be some data here:
https://www.kaggle.com/pronto/cycle-share-dataset

If i get some time I might open a PR with a pointer to it.

i put the zipped data at this URL (no login) for the moment:

https://mtcdrive.box.com/s/vfzk3gobl5tvgu83mbumgr62y8zqew03

wow, looks like i'm going to have to learn some C++! :)

or i might just write a little R script given the relatively smaller size of the seattle data.

Thanks for the heads up Tom! The data have been dumped in the data.seattle.gov portal, with one file of station data and one of trip data. I guess these would be good to incorporate in spite of system death. I might, however, wait until these two milestones have been ticked off, but let me know if you'd like them done sooner, and I'll expedite the process.
