Make a temporary directory, cd to that directory, then perform your work. (You didn't really rm all my .txt's, since I always audit scripts/code before running. But, others may not notice it.)

There are many other issues. For instance, always use complete paths to binaries in a script which will be executed by root.

It's a nifty idea. But, this needs some work.
