I've set an external hard drive to save it. I was able to access and write to the drive using ES File Explorer (I've created the Kodi/Bckp/ backup folder in the external drive using it). When I tried to run the backup plugin it gave an error saying it was not able to write.
I'm not an expert on this kind of thing but I'm curious if this is an Android permissions issue. Below is an article I found (referring to an external SD but guessing any external drive would work the same) that says individual apps must ask for permission to write to external drives. I know from my own use with the ES File Explorer program this does happen the first time you try to write to an external attached device within that app.
The Kodi app itself probably doesn't have permission. One thing you could try to fix this is use the Kodi file explorer to try and make a file. The app might then prompt from permission. If that doesn't work we could try posting on the Kodi forum, there might be a work around someone else knows.
Hi,

Here is the log file https://paste.kodi.tv/ebazaceruh.kodi
Thanks for the help
