Hello. I am a VZ-10M owner and huge Casio synth fan.
I want to use vzeditor to store and sort patches, so I tried to build git / homebrew environment. I used homebrew to install wxwidgets and portmidi since "Java is not found on computer" error continuously appeared.

make command could build vzeditor, but still cannot figure out what can do for running the program. when I double click to run vzeditor command file, this error shows and freezes.

what can I do now?

I find have any (working / accessible) Apple computers so may have limited ability to help but can you run from the command line and post the results?

Thanks.
After I have granted full disc access to vzeditor exec file, I have tried running from directory of vzeditor, directly pasted exec file's path and pressed enter.
It actually worked!

But it still have some issues.

  1. cannot save the patch file
  2. the patch does not refer to the patch name which was edited on the vzeditor
If you could help I will be very appreciated...
I will also try to run it on Windows or old Macbook, maybe try it on rapsbian as well to seek best environment for it.

This is grateful work for old casio synth fan such as me... This will help a lot when I edit the patches if it works properly!

I don't use the VZ-1 sounds much. I tend to use it as a master keyboard to drive other modules. (Most notably a Zynthian.) I just compiled the editor and it does have many issues. I can get it to send MIDI to the VZ-1, e.g. the keyboard, adjusting Master Volume, Tune, Mode, etc. but the sound manipulation looks broken. I am not sure if I will find time to look at this any time soon. I am very occupied with other projects. (Particularly riban modular.
