Shortcut is not working on windows... I think it has something to do with the cmd/windows key, I don't think I can use the windows key at all on Atom Editor. should alt-cmd-n change to alt-ctrl-n?

What are our thoughts?

I had the same issue. I was able to change the key binding myself to correct it until this becomes the default. Just add the following to your keymap.cson file.

'.workspace':
'ctrl-alt-n': 'fancy-new-file:toggle'

hmmm. when I create new files with fancy, it just opens a new instance of Atom, this is weird...
