API to terminate viewer later after calling spawn

We have an API to spawn a new viewer, but once spawned, the only way to close it is manually via the UI.

This particularly makes sense in the context of #1998 where it might make sense to primarily send data to an .rrd but it's still convenient to show a live preview just while the application is running.
