FuzzyWuzzy switched to MIT over a year ago.

It is MIT licensed so it can be used whichever License you might want to choose for your project, while you're forced to adopt the GPL license when using FuzzyWuzzy

Yes the readme isn't really correct for thefuzz anymore.

  1. thefuzz is MIT licensed
  2. it doesn't have the same performance difference fuzzywuzzy had

The reason for both of those is that I completely rewrote thefuzz to be a compatibility wrapper around rapidfuzz to address a lot of issues: seatgeek/thefuzz#10.
