Disconnect/Network issues with Windows 11 Pro 24H2 and yfinance() #2145

My computer's been having issues with Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (latest builds since around October) and python yfinance() library. Quotes run for a while then stop. If I reboot computer they start again but stop after a while again. Python is allowed through firewall. I had upgraded to 0.2.50 but had to downgrade to 0.2.18 which seems to be a little more stable. I also have Linux Mint installed (dual boot) and there are no problems on that OS. I've also tried Mint through VirtualBox and no problems there. Just Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (recent builds). I tried to downgrade Windows but it won't let me, always updates to latest. I reset the network and firwall but still an issue. It must be a network/security/firewall issue or something, not sure. Seems like Windows might close connection if not active after a certain period of time if low/no activity. I don't know anything about networking and firewall. If anyboday has any suggestions it would be appreciated. tia |

I am running 0.2.18 (chatGPT recommended as stable) now on a Saturday from ~9am on and no problems. Of course the data is static. I had tried 0.2.28, also 0.2.49, 0.2.50 with issues described. I will provide an update Monday during/after premarket and later to see if this version updates. Like I said above, it seems Windows disconnects if low/no activity(?). Anything else I should try? |

Ran 0.2.18 on Windows and quotes stopped. No matter which version of yfinance() I use with the latest Windows 11 Pro builds quotes stop after a time (about 15 minutes). If I reboot they start up again but then discontinue. Went over to Linux and no issues. Running 0.2.50 there. |

So after formatting and reinstalling Windows, quotes still stop after about 1/2 hour. No idea what's going on with Windows 11 Pro 24H2. If anybody ever reads this and knows please post. Over on Linux quotes work as expected. Really want to go full linux but a few programs I use are tied to Windows ecosystem and don't even run on Wine etc. I might run them through VirtualBox though and be done with ridiculous Windows. |

Lots of reported networking issues with 24H2... A lot of people are saying the following worked. Some bizzare setting deep in the bowels of the registry. I did this and will report back.
