Hi,

it would be great if you could add your app to F-Droid (https://f-droid.org/).
As you surly know apps listed in this repository are reviewed to guarantee that for example proprietary libraries or trackers aren't used (https://f-droid.org/en/docs/Inclusion_Policy/).
Therefore having your app in this repository would be a sign of quality from a security and privacy perspective.

Hi,
we are using Firebase (with analytics disabled of course) to deliver push notifications, so unfortunately the app is not allowed on f-droid :(

An variant of the APP could solve this, could'nt it? See Element.

We have multiple requests from users that cannot install the application without Play Store (and Google Account).

While pushing to the "official f-droid repository" would be ideal, an alternative would be to offer your own f-droid repo that users can add on their devices to get the software (and updates).

We use android without Play Store in our public schools (in Germany) and would also be glad to see an app without Firebase or a dedicated f-droid compatible repo.

@nilsbehlen Would an app without Firebase be usable when the user opens the app manually? Maybe this could be a compromise that F-Droid users would accept?

To allow our users to choose different apps, we only use OTP-Tokens (not the PI-specific PUSH-Tokens). So for our use-case a build without any push notifications would be fine.

privacyIDEA-Authenticator is the easiest FOSS authenticator app that works on iOS and Android. Therefore we recommend it to our users. Sadly we had to explain why it seems to contain a tracker and why it is only available via Google Play multiple times already.
