As mentioned in my other issue #66, the panels are below workspaces view.
This also results in making their applets unusable as some their parts are covered by it.

The cleanest UX here would be to close the Workspaces view when a panel or dock is interacted with. Here are a few examples of why this is likely the correct action:
Launching a new app instance from the app tray already closes Workspaces and feels natural
Switching to an active app from the app tray stays in the Workspaces view and feels awkward
It's difficult to anticipate sane outcomes when interacting with applets in the Workspace overview. For instance, tiling or untiling a workspace from the Workspace view wouldn't do anything until the view is closed.
