Handler function with generic params

Is it possible for handler functions to accept generics? I'm getting

rustc: the trait bound `poem::web::Data<Arc<std::sync::Mutex<Ctx<A>>>>: FromRequest<'_>` is not satisfied
the trait `FromRequest<'_>` is implemented for `poem::web::Data<&_>`
for that trait implementation, expected `&_`, found `Arc<std::sync::Mutex<Ctx<A>>>` [E0277]
