Hello! I have been playing Evolve for the past... gosh, two years or so now? And I have evolved the Polar races a couple times, and I gotta say, the use of "W*ndigo" kinda bothers me. I live in North America, and though I am not of indigenous descent, it is my understanding that entities bearing this name are not to be discussed; I have been taught that even saying their name can attract their attention, and should be avoided.
I am not a superstitious person, and do not believe these creatures exist or that saying their name will actually cause harm. But I think it's still proper to respect the traditions from which it originates.

A friend of mine suggested reskinning them to Wights. I've kept everything basically the same, but for anyone who might be searching for this in the future, this is what I am using in a string pack:
(Planet names are from Skyrim because I needed names and Skyrim has wights lmao.)
{
"achieve_extinct_wendigo_name": "Soulless Abomination",
"achieve_extinct_wendigo_desc": "Led a Wight civilization to destruction.",
"achieve_extinct_wendigo_flair": "There was nothing left to feed on",
"race_wendigo": "Wight",
"race_wendigo_desc": "Wight are horrific creatures that were born in the coldest climates. They have ravenous appetites which are never sated, and they feed only on the souls of other creatures.",
"race_wendigo_entity": "polar horrors",
"race_wendigo_home": "Rielle",
"race_wendigo_solar_red": "Jerall",
"race_wendigo_solar_hell": "Bruma",
"race_wendigo_solar_gas": "Varlais",
"race_wendigo_solar_gas_moon": "Arcwind",
"race_wendigo_solar_dwarf": "Bruma"
