Some initial thoughts:

  • I've noticed not much is blocked when running with uBo & uMatrix, even using aggressive settings, which leads me to question the usefulness of this.

  • I'd prefer to be able to see what's allowed and blocked in the pop-up, as well as the ability to adjust them with more granularity than just "allow all," similar to uBo & uMatrix.

  • "Remove grant" is strange wording and confusing at first. It would probably be better to just say "deny all" or "remoke permissions."

  • The logging settings don't make sense. They make it sound like either you won't see any logging, you'll only see blocked functionality, or you'll see all functionality requested but nothing will be blocked. So it would seem there's no option to block normally (as with options 1 or 2) and still be able to see not just what's blocked (option 2) but what's allowed (option 3). However, unless I'm misunderstanding it, this doesn't seem to be how it works, and it seems to always show what's allowed, so the logging option seems to only affect whether you see what's blocked or not. In any case, it seems that either the options need to be reworded, or they need to be modified, or both. Also, it took me a while to even figure it out, and at first I thought it wasn't working properly, because I wasn't seeing anything being blocked, which ended up being because I didn't have logging enabled. It would probably be a good idea to show a warning when viewing the log if logging is disabled, perhaps with a button to enable it.

  • The "configure blocking rules" button in the pop-up really opens the options, where much more than just configuring the rules is done, so perhaps it should be renamed to just "options," or even changed to a gear icon to free up space for something else, like showing the granularity mentioned above. And the "view blocked features" button shows blocked and allowed features, so its name is also inaccurate and misleading.

  • Even using the lite configuration, it breaks Yahoo mail, causing images (such as checkboxes, dots for marking messages as read/unread, etc) to not display. And even after allowing all and refreshing the page, it remains broken. The only way to fix it is to restart the browser (Waterfox 56.1.0 x64). Edit: I've run into the same issue with lowes.com and, again, refreshing the page after allowing all doesn't fix it. Having to restart the browser every time I run across a site this breaks is not an option.

  • In order for this to achieve a reasonable adoption rate, the information about the various features needs to be made more accessible, i.e. not requiring reading pages and pages of technical info per feature to (hopefully) understand what each does, not to mention having to remember it all. A condensed, basic explanation for each should be included. Even if some of them take a few paragraphs to explain, that would be a whole lot better than what it is now, and would at least allow people to get a general idea of things. This information could be included in the logs, too.

  • Edit: One more thing I forgot, which is that the "allow all"/"remove grant" button should be able to be toggled more than once without requiring a page reload.
