when I setup the GitHub CI Pipeline up a while ago to build standalone applications or installers that contain a JDK, it was pretty easy to also create builds for Linux, mainly DEB & RPM packages. This should cover a majority of the used Linux distributions. But some distribution like Arch Linux aren't covered yet.
But because neither I, nor @patschuh uses Kafkaesque on Linux, we don't really have any experience with how good the Linux builds work, and what the user experience is like. I did briefly test the DEB & RPM packages in VMs though.
So if you're one of the few Linux users, I would like to hear your feedback. Either in this thread, or just create a new issue if you noticed a bug or wish for an additional feature.
If you're, e.g, interested in auto updates on Ubuntu via a PPA, feel free to open an issue. We could look into Snap or AppImages as well because they are supported on most Linux distributions if you would be fine with those. We accept PRs as well.
