How to load custom Map Styles

Hi

I am new to Osmand. I want to load custom map styles on my Pixel 9 Pro. I read through the osmand website and they link to an example with an off-road motorcycle map style.

I followed the instructions on the github page and I downloaded the .osf plugin file using the browser on my phone but when I try to open the file with the file manager app it says "None of your apps can open this file". How can I load custom map styles on an Android phone?

Hi! Simple import of ***.render.xml should work, or you can go to Menu – Maps & Resources – Local – Rendering style - tap on 3 dot's menu – Import

Thanks for the quick reply. On the Android app there is no such option:

Menu – Maps & Resources – Local – Rendering style - tap on 3 dot's menu – Import

I was able to locate where the app stores the map style .xml files on my phone, that is in 0 > android > data > net.osmand > files > rendering and I can directly paste the new .xml file there, then restart the app and it would read it the map style.

Alternatively, under Settings - Import from file I can import zipped files with .osf extensions. If I try to import an .xml file it fails with this error message:

Select a supported OSF file extension instead.
