Head Unit Mode for Car

Hi all,

OSMAND has now become quite reliable and usable, it also does not crasch often as it did some years ago.
So I want to use it as headunit in my car:
Simply build a tray made of card board and fix a good tablet like galaxy S6 lite under the windshield, connect it with amplifier and power it from USB.

It is much fun driving with a detailed osmand map.
In case of a jamed highway find a good spot to leave it... Also osmand has a nice GUI.
But, I do not wamt to change apps, and restrict the tablet to just osmand in "car headunit mode"!
So I would like to have a side panel with a simple player for ogg, mp3, flac (can be remote control for headless vlc) with just basic functions (volume, play, pause, seek forward, back, next title, scrolling title display like 199x CD player.
Title can be displayed in a status line where the gps position is displayed if enabled. / it changes with gps position display for example display 5 sec position, 10 sec title, or only position or only song name.
No Distractions, no app change, just osmand for the things you need while driving!

!Please, also register osmand the launcher, if one presses the home button occationally it should not start the android launcher but replace it be with osmand! (If not in car head unit mode) the original launcher gets called.)
So one does not need to seek osmand in launcher if one misrakely pressed the home button and be distracted from driving.

Phone function:
Another plugin would be to basic phone here we see the caller id / name if in contacts and just have 2 buttons green/ red to take the call or to dimiss it/mute ring tone.
So the music/audio book is paused if the phone rings, old scool ring tone is played, and one can press big green or red button depending on caller and situation.
Caller ID can be shown at status line that normally displays gps position if enabled.
Here the caller id overrides the position display as the call proceeding state (ringing) is only some seconds and if one has taken it and the call is on the way the display line changes between callerID and position in a good timming to allow to read the position to the caller in case if emergency for example.

Why not 2 lines?
The screen should be kept tidy depending on the screen size and orientation 2lines could be too much.
Or make this behavior1 or 2 status lines configurable.

Phone function could be enhanced a bit by adding a numpad in a floating window if one presses green with no incoming call.
The numpad can have a contacts bar, so if on presses it the contacts can be scrolled name/ number in a simple floating menue that contains button down, up and rollbar to select alphabetical scrolling list of contacts
Buttons green=call red=not call and back/cancel buttons

Keep thngs simple so the driver is not distracted too much.

Also think about a remote control api so later folks could hack steering wheel buttons detectors that just generate "key presses" in the remote control api.
But this is another story, but a remote control api would be a start for it.
