One or more Murata super-cap things, possibly in multiple locations (eg. might have some in photonics as interim store for solar cells).
When external power is available, it should be used in preference to internal storage in terms of driving circuits. However, it should also be used to charge internal storage if applicable.
- Ability to switch between different storage sources and external supplies.
- Ability to enable/disable circuit branches ideally via I2C
- Method for handing brownouts and blackouts
- Prioritisation, scheduling/triggering of sensor events
