Is the BM25 Score in ParadeDB really BM25?

Hello, I am a user of ParadeDB version 0.8.5. I am using the .score_bm25() method to derive the BM25 Score.
However, is this really the BM25 Score? The extracted results seem to be closer to an Exact Match.
If I am using it incorrectly, it would be helpful if you could provide an example of the correct usage.
Also, I am curious if it is scored using the widely known BM25 formula!

The BM25 I know calculates the score based on TF-IDF, which is frequency-based. However, the derived results and scores don't seem to reflect that, so I would like to hear from the developer.
