isNew not returning true on create

Hi guys,

I have this code on my project :

const channel = await Channel.firstOrCreate(
  { id },
  {
    slug,
    env: environment,
  }
)

if (channel.$isNew) {
  await return `Channel ${slug} saved`
} else {
  await return `Channel ${slug} already exists`
}

and $isNew always return false. Is this normal ?
