validate the request with no specific type

I want to validate the user request for update password like below

public async updatePassword({ auth, request, response }: HttpContextContract) {
    await request.validate({
      schema: schema.create({
        current: schema.string({ trim: true }, [rules.required()]),
        password: schema.string({ trim: true }, [rules.required()]),
        confirm_password: schema.string({ trim: true }, [
          rules.required(),
          rules.equalTo('password'),
        ]),
      }),
    })
    // ...
  }

in this part of code if set the current: 123233423 got error because this is number and the validation just accept string.

Is there any idea to achieve this? and user can fill the property with out strict type
