From Computer Music to Quantum Computing

How can Quantum Computing be used in Music Composition? And what does it even mean to use computers in music? In this talk I will present my research and creative work on Music and Quantum Computing. I’ll include a brief personal and historical overview, explaining the context in which computers enter the music creative practice space, and the doors that it opened. On my quest to define a Quantum-computing Aided Composition (QAC), I developed a toolkit for musicians and artists to build, run, and simulate quantum circuits. And along the way co-hosted conferences and started an online-first Community for artists and scientists working in this cross-disciplinary field. Part of the talk will feature a live coding demo and a quick overview of how to engage with the Community.
