This is a (temporary) fork of xapian repository. There is already a README and license (COPYING) file.

@mgautierfr I though, because of repository name, this repository is to host the meson based compilation for Xapian? As such won't be temporary. Where are going the Meson compilation scripts/configuration if it is not there anymore?

Please look at the git history. This is a fork of xapian repository with extra commits adding meson build system.

So, readme should be updated like requested and repository is not temporary.

Repo will be temporary and should be moved to a better place, see #4.

But in the meantime we need:

• a clear LICENSING about the code written by @mgautierfr
• a clear README explaining - in current situation - how exactly to make an update of Xapian if needed.

To me, removing the source code and having a proper list of patch is a blocker for this, see #2

@mgautierfr You will be off for a long time, it's important the situation for the follower how to deal with this.
