Giving metrics a more user friendly name?

I've noticed the OpenActive metrics on bothan have descriptive names - https://openactive-metrics.herokuapp.com/metrics

I was thinking of renaming the dashboard submitted metrics via the 'edit metadata' feature in the bothan admin, but I've held off as I wasn't sure whether this would change the metrics endpoint path and break the updater.
